File Under Music: Front Line Assembly

Night Bloggites
A little music to spend the night

Front Line Assembly: The Blade

File Under Music: Eisenfunk

Request from the older Baby Bat, he wanted to hear Pong.

Happy Friday Morning, Bloggies!

Today we're having a more refined look. Since this week has been cyberpunky, we aren't stopping that (it's hard since I have little that's classic goth in the store). I do have a warning though. Etsy runs  the listings for 4 months or until the item sells. If the pinstripe scarf doesn't sell, I'm not renewing it or dropping the price. I like this one, I will keep it if it doesn't sell!

Good Night, Bloggy Peoples

Today has been a good day. I have two sales from the shop, one shipping tomorrow, one a custom order. I also had a wonderful conversation with a wonderful lady that I am going to start calling my goth mommy.

I thought today was going to be a good day, and it was.... :)

*Happy Fuzzy Gothy Feeling*

I feel validated that I am an artist today.

File Under Music....

Vote (for those lurkers out there.... come out of the woodwork...) for favorites.

I'm thinking of who's going to be next (because honestly I could spend all day sitting here filing bands under music :p but I'd not be giving love to my other social medias and my messy livingroom.). But the EBM, harsh EBM, Aggrotech, and industrial list is going as such.

Grendal
XP8
System Syn
Tactical Sekt
Skinny Puppy (of course!)
Razed in Black (yes I'm going backwards through my Winamp now)
Panzer AG (Andy LaPlegua dominates the playlists, doesn't he?)
Machines of Loving Grace (if I feel political)
Front Line Assembly
Eisenfunk
Die Krupps/DKay.com
Bella Morte... maybe

Ooo and I almost forgot....
In Strict Confidence

File Under Music: Icon of Coil

I seem to have taken a less industrial musical turn today (but no less dystopian... yes, I'm trying to see how many times I can use that today).

I want to upload a video for Icon of Coil: Shelter, however no one has a good album/single version of it up on Youtube...

If anyone finds one, let me know so I can post it.

Until then....
Icon of Coil: Android (it's the CyberFreak theme song, actually)

File Under Music: Seed V2

I know I posted about Seed before. But I really do feel that it needs revisited today. I said I'd post some more dystopian music for today's cyberpunk feel, and wouldn't you know it.. I go to wake up the vampies on VampireFreaks, and Seed has read my mind and left a  (bulk) message in my inbox that he's uploaded a new song! He somehow knew!
I mentioned on his comments about the very 90's industrial sound. Which is good, the 90's were a good time for industrial, especially the heavier sound (I don't want to compare anything to a certain famous industrial 1 man band that was born and raised in Mercer PA and got his start in Cleveland... because it's unfair... many people were doing the sound, he just made it famous). So I feel that it is needed for today.

I can't link a youtube video, just the VampireFreaks page, but the first song that starts on his player is Machine Gun Mary, the one I was talking about.

Good Morning Googlites.

Today is going to be cyberpunk with a splash of goth. Have fun, be dystopian.

I'm going to try to post some music later as well to compliment the cyberpunk-ness. Until then, shameless promotion.

Good Night Blogger...

(That doesn't mean you have to sleep, party all you want, just keep the noise down until morning, I got a 2.5 year old that thinks 7 am is as late as one can possibly sleep)

Let's Get Gothing In Cleveland

Cleveland crafters will be gathering on December 14th in Lakewood for the Breakneck Gallery and the Cleveland Craft Coalition Second Annual Handmade Holiday Show. I'm planning on being there, maybe, it's oldest demon child's 4th birthday, so that makes it a little ify. I won't be selling but a dear friend of mine will, so check out Spooky Grrrl Bath and Body if you go.

Geek Day/Cyberpunk Day

Today is Geek/Cyberpunk (because they cross lines sometimes) today (though cyber goth works on this one).

I clicked on Heather's shop today and found absolutely the coolest stuff!

Love it!!!!!!

Good Morning... From The Control Freak

I decided to at least post one good morning post across all medias every day and include something worthwhile.

To start... the Control Freak... in the Cyber Cave (think Bat Cave from Batman) glaring through the morning cup of coffee.
I just touched up my hair last night, it's still a little wet from rinsing out the Manic Panic this morning when I got up (yes, I leave it in overnight, for those who have never used Manic Panic, the dye itself is better for your hair than most shampoos), but the pic makes all my hair look green/blue, which I though was kind of funny. Also the glare... I do a good glare.

To End This Day On A High Note

Hubby brought home some pumpkin cheesecake for me.

File Under Music: Combichrist

I have been a bit negitive today. So it's time to post some music. Not that Combichrist is all that.... upbeat and perky and peace, love, and hugs touchy feely, but hey... it's a message.

I'm hoping for Throat Full of Glass uncensored....

Awww... only the clean version. Enjoy anyway.

Whoa... Things I've Learned Today...

Mopey, formerly emo/scene/whatever kids are now doing something called 'soft grunge'.

*has an 'I'm 39' moment*

Sweeties.... that is NOT grunge. Considering you probably weren't born or barely 2 when grunge happened..... take it from the old goth lady who was in her 20's when Kurt Cobain was alive (I was a bit grunge, just a bit, I was struggling in the 90's). That's not grunge... it's emo... redone for the 500 millionth fucking time..

Okay, well, I've only learned one thing today. But it was an important lesson. I'm old. Kids are... *refrains from the insults*

The Downside of Small Business Ownership...

Today I had to go through and raise some prices on the shop today. I had two orders come in over the weekend and the cost of shipping and packaging them is starting to take up ALL the profit. Irritating to say the least.
I tried to spread the costs, but since little is selling right now, it's hard. But I only raised prices $2 to $3 on certain items. I really hate raising prices, but until I'm turning a profit, it has to be done.

Of Hair Dye and Shampoo

This is more of a mental note to self. When washing hair with intentions of touching up the green semi permanent dye later on in the evening.... there is no need to wash hair under frigidly cold water as you normally do because you do not need to worry about preserving the color.... CAUSE YOU'RE DYING IT LATER ON!!!!

I worry about me sometimes.

In the end, before I washed my hair, only had run some cold water over the ends.... I wised up and used warm water.

The things I do for my hair color....

On a less "she's crazy" note, LOVE the Manic Panic dyes. I use Atomic Turquoise Classic Cream Formula  with a little work, the color lasts and my hair is so healthy and soft where the turquoise is.

File Under Music: Psyclon Nine (v2)

Since I couldn't edit the last one I posted (where the tablet couldn't link the video) we'll just have to post it again....

Psyclon Nine: We the Fallen

And bonus... Suicide Note Lullaby

CyberFreak Gets Cyber-Pwned

Tuesday my happy ass got pwned by a virus. Well, my computer's happy ass did. But I'm happy to say it's gone... finally. 4 days of working on it and it's finally gone.

It was a DOS trojan, one that attacks network connections and steals usernames and passwords. Yay.... fortunately the bank account logins aren't on my computer.

What I learned....

Never trust Microsoft. They have no clue. They said I had to wipe the harddrive. I thought it sounded weird but did it anyway.

Backing up frequently IS really a good thing. I had recently backed up all my stuff (well, recently a month before the keyboard met a coffee induced death and I stopped using it. So July). Of course I knew all along backing up was good, I just usually end up with thinking.... "I should back up my computer..." and something happening like Windows getting fried in an update.

Always trust geeks. They have the good virus removal tools.

Oh well. I needed to get stuff removed from the computer anyway.

Just as a reminder.... we are offering 10% off all orders on Monday, November 26, it's Cyber Monday after all.

*Sighs And Whines About Steampunk*

I wish that Steampunk would stop stealing aesthetics from cyber goth and cyberpunk.

Well, that was a short whine.

Now, must get around to checking to what new shop items have been posted and what hasn't. On a good note, I found a working keyboard, the one that replaced the last keyboard that met with a coffee induced trauma, (I just don't see why keyboards can't handle coffee....well, I guess this one did) so I'm back on my own computer and can post better and not worry about logging back into dear heart husband's account when I'm done. He hates it when I log out of his Google.

Of course Thanksgiving is nearly here. Mom is coming in from Erie to stay with us for a few days (and I'll get a break from the kids! They can't resist Gamma) so I really won't be posting much while she is here, too much to do and well... Black Friday and Cyber Monday... I'm hoping to have some sales (meaning I gotta get some stuff on eBay-hell)

To All The Goths, Cyber Goths, And Cyberpunks!

Lots going on in CyberFreak's land. First, revamped the spider web umbrella...

Next added a bit of scarf and glove love

And my favorite... what happens to an old computer cooling fan? Cybergoth/cyberpunk jewelry!
It's one necklace, it's reversible.

Yes, I have been busy, but I met my goal of getting 30 items up in the shop. Actually, it can be 31 if I try today.

File Under Music: Psyclon Nine

I had my sushi tonight.. I didn't do anything but surf around the net like a nerd... I finally posted the newest item from the store, now I can be musically inclined.

After stupid kid's show theme songs being stuck in my head, here's some noise. Psyclon Nine, We The Fallen (why not, right?)

Only... the tablet won't let me use the script to do the video through Youtube through Blogger, so here's the old school link.. I'll fix it later.
Psyclon Nine

More Cyber Geekiness

Ctrl+alt+delete... says it all.
Yet another geeky item up on the store (I've been pushing them out lately), a lovely wire wrapped bracelet (good for guys or girls) made from my late, great, keyboard's keys.

Just a reminder, the shop is at www.Etsy.com/shop/CyberFreak
Something of a more post apocalyptic flavor... a string cuff to match the olive green string scarf.

And a ferrite torroid pendant

Cyberpunk/Cyber Goth D6 Dice Necklace

D6 Cube necklace
Okay, it just looks way cool, eve  if it doesn't look much like dice (err, die) it just way geeky cool for those cyber goth and cyberpunk moments.

Spiders... Oh So Goth!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/114666663/goth-spider-decor-ornament-or-window New item. He started as s charm for an umbrella but was too big. So we decided he was.. whatever you want... but his styling (well stylized) self is my much too cool to fit neatly in a category.

Goth (Of All Shades) Finds From The Web

I'm going to be a bit biased and probably focus a lot on the Etsy finds since I spend time there since the shop is there.

Today I'm going to go on and on about Antonia's shop, Second Chance Ceramics.
I fell in LOVE with her items, particularly to my sense of humor...
She also has a spider web one on the last page of her shop that I'm so tempted to get and of course tempted on the Arsenic one too.

It's The End Of The World And I Feel Cyberpunk

Updated photo on the new scarf. It's listed on CyberFreak now. So buy it. You know you want it. Really... you want it... you can't live without- is this convincing anyone? I don't think it is...

More Cyberpunk Goodness

New string scarf in a more post apocalyptic color! Not quite done yet... but almost.
Hum... actually kind of looks black. It's army green.

Post Apocalyptic Cybergoth

I know... I've been posting a lot today, but I had to do the whole post office thing and have had my focus all over the place today.

But I decided I should probably actually talk about the shop at some point. So... since everything's been cyberpunk today...

Post Apocalyptic Cyber Punk Cyber Goth Spider Web Scarf Cyberpunk

I like this one cause it just looks so cool on in many ways. And really just says (loudly) post apocalyptic.

File Under Music: Angelspit

Angelspit, wonderfully noisy band (I'd call them industrial, but that's only one girl's opinion) from Sydney Australia.
Photo from lastfm

But see what I mean about the red, black, and white?

WREAK HAVOC!!!!!!!!!!

Cybergoth!!!!!!!!!!!!

And cyber goth?
I'm just having a 'what should I be searching for?' moment (I like cybergoth)

I also wanted to post a video for Motherfucker, but I can't find one.

The Devil's in the Details....

I dislike Pinterest by the way. But hey, it's a tool and I do like posting inspiration which is what today's post will be, inspiration.

Today I've been thinking about things like Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is wonderful, in my opinion, for my less gothy moments because it still has the parts of cyber goth I like but I can get away with the grunge side of me that resurfaces from the 90's every so often.

So I'm thinking about colors. Greys, blacks, and whites. But of course the Libra in me can not just grunge it out, so patterns (a decidedly un-cyberpunk element and more of a cyber goth element) are coming to play.

One of the most recognizable elements of goth clothing.... goth society in general is... the stripe and the checker board design. Cyber goth goes an odd direction with it, the more tradition stripes and checks are more goth, but cyber goth takes a very bright neon take on it while goth stick to more traditional (again) with black and white.

Make anything neon green and it's cyber goth (or even cyberpunk).

Now that I've gotten through the stream of consciousness thought process (that, my dears, is how my mind works on a constant basis). I do believe I need more coffee at this point.

Anyhow, something I pinned on Pinterest got me thinking about contrast...

the image is from FanPop, however, it was taken from Aesthetic Perfection's website

What makes the picture so memorable and makes it 'pop' is the contrasting colors. Black, white, and red. Those three colors work well together.

I really want to do something cyberpunk in the high contrast colors. I want to do a statement line.

Transmutor, the green and black dread falls I had done I tried to do the same thing with. I did the falls, the tutu, a scarf and the biohazard umbrella. It went well together and I liked the collection feel.
I just need to put it together in mind. How am I going to get the falls look right? Tutu? Umbrella? I think I will cyber punk it out with jewlery I'm thinking of putting together.
I tend to name the falls after songs, I think this collection will be called Inhuman. I'm going to try to take the rivithead/military lines combine it with the dystopia feel of cyberpunk, and give it the cohesiveness of cyber goth... this... should be fun (and hard!)

*cue evil plotting look*

Snark, Hostility, and The Mean Girls Club.

I can only sum up what my fellow goths have been feeling, and I have all my life, on these subjects.
Sometimes it feels like we haven't left high school, despite it being 20 years in my past. The clich's still exsist, the Mean Girls Club is still there, and they don't like it when you point it out to them in your gothiest of attitudes.

! I ran into this situation today. I thought I was in the midst of grown ups, I was mistaken. It was just like the days back in school where the elitist snobs lobbed snarky insults around when I pointed out logic. God forbid that a Goth be right. I admit it got under my skin. If I were 16, not 39, it would be different, I just feel like being grown up means you act grown up too. I will let go of the anger, I am a big girl after all, I pointed out their hostility, to which they responded with hostility. Thus... they proved my point. So my dears, just point out the obvious, it pisses off the mean Girls Club every time.

File Under Music: (What it means to me)

The reason why I started the File Under Music posts today was because I think about how important is to the goth subculture sometimes.Today was one of those days.
I joined VampireFreaks back in July just to check out new bands. That's generally what I do there. I've found some new bands I like and met some new people.

But it's the music that seems to particularly draw together the people in the goth community. Tears us apart too. We hold a banner together as a whole by the love of the darker things in life, but it's the music that we identify with and is what socially gathers us.

In my opinion, it's the music that makes goths, of all flavors, different from everyone else. We identify with our music a little more than other groups.

Oh, and spider webs. Find me a goth that doesn't have a spider web in their clothing/accessories/decor somewhere.

The Devil Made Me Do It

I decided I'm starting a CyberFreak street team. I will call them Unleash Hell. They will be evil.
Now I just need stickers.
Though I'm also thinking the street team could be a cyber street team.

Anyone who doesn't know what a street team is, ask you parents.

File Under Music: Seed

I decided to promote less... music more

Seed way cool band from Cincinnati. Had a brief conversation with with him on VampireFreaks. Very cool guy.

Less Ranting...

... more promoting.
I have a Gifts for Non Goths section on the store now.

I don't get eBay...

I just don't get eBay.
Are the shoppers that cheap?
The dread falls that won't go away are listed on a 7 day auction on eBay and have (of course) been getting lots of views and a couple watchers.
Are they waiting until 1 day left to start bidding? My buy it now price is $2 more than the reserve bid. Sure I'm not paying on shipping on these ones, but really, $2 more. JUST BUY IT NOW!

Yeah, sure, first real blog post is a rant about my own product. But man, I'm starting to dread these dreads... they seem to be popular but no one wants them.

Beginning

Everyone has to start somewhere....

So, since I'm short on time and long on things that need to be done, here's the store URL.

CyberFreak on Etsy, cyberpunk and cyber goth accessories.
